So I watched Paranormal Activity last night and I couldn’t sleep. I doubt that I’ll ever sleep again. It is officially the scariest movie I’ve ever seen.
Watch it.
Watch it with the lights off.
Watch it with the sound turned up.
Watch it and don’t stop.
You won’t be able to stop watching it when you close your eyes.
It’s that scary.
I don’t want to spoil anything in case you haven’t seen it. But trust me when I say it’s worth it. Especially as it approaches the ending.
*shudder*
What makes this movie truly scary is that it understands a few basic premises about horror.
1) Nothing is always scarier than something
2) Keep the most familiar of settings
Remember how Jaws made you not want to swim? Remember how The Blair Witch Project made you not want to go into the woods? Well Paranormal Activity makes you never want to go into your bedroom…ever again.
I can’t say anything more without ruining it. And besides, I need to try and get some sleep, I doubt I’ll be able to….
