With WWE Survivor Series in the books, it is about time to start getting geared up for the biggest event on every wrestling fans calender, Wrestlemania! Already the seeds for some of the biggest matches have been sowed, and it will be interesting to see where things go from here.
It looks to me like things are going to shape up like this…
Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Kofi Kingston vs. John Morrison vs. Sheamus vs. CM Punk vs.
The Miz vs. Drew McIntyre vs. MVP vs. Matt Hardy
On paper this may just be the best Money in the Bank Match ever. All eight men could have legitimate chances of emerging as the winner (something that doesn’t happen too often) and they all represent different aspects of the companies future. I think that Kingston and Morrison are the most likely to win with Sheamus being not too far off. I put Punk in this match to add credence to the event as a two-time champion. I would have Kingston take the briefcase here.
ECW Title 26 Man Battle Royal
Shelton Benjamin (c) vs. Jack Swagger vs. Kane vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. R-Truth vs. Evan Bourne vs. Tyson Kidd vs. DH Smith vs. JTG vs. Shad vs. Mark Henry vs. William Regal vs. Yoshi Tatsu vs. Zack Ryder vs. Vladmir Zovlov vs. Ezekial Jackson vs. Goldust vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Tommy Dreamer vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. The Great Khali vs. The Hurricance vs. Finlay vs. Chris Masters vs. Paul Burchill vs. Santino Marella
I think that Benjamin will capture the ECW Title from Christian Cage and slowly turn into the cocky heel that worked so well for him as the US Champion. He should then rack up the wins against everyone on the ECW Roster until he claims to be the best in the company. He is then forced to defend the title in a special 26 man tri-branded battle royal against all comers. The possibilities are pretty endless here I think. If the WWE doesn’t want to do this they could always do what they did at Wrestlemania 24 when they had a Battle Royal to determine the top challenger for later that night.
Legacy Showdown
Randy Orton vs. Ted Dibiase
This match has been rumoured for pretty much the entire year and seems very likely to take place at this big event. The crowd reaction was insane when these two had to go one on one a few months ago and everyone was begging for Dibiase to hit Orton but he refused. I think that he’ll eventually snap and this match should be set.
Falls Count Anywhere
Rey Mysterio vs. Batista
These two have plenty of unfinished business as Mysterio is off getting knee surgery. Mysterio should return soon to haunt Batista leading to a blow off match that should lead to a surprise Rey victory.
Diva’s Tag Match
Melina and Gail Kim vs. Beth Phoenix and Natalya
Not sure why this match would happen but there is always some sort of a diva’s match and it may as well feature the best three wrestlers that they have.
Undisputed Tag Title Match
Chris Jericho and Big Show (c) vs. Edge and Christian
Apparently Edge is a maybe for Wrestlemania, but I think that he’ll make it in time. This would be a perfect way for him to come back if there are any health concerns. I mean, he can work part of the match from the ring apron and he may not need to take part in much of the build. This match would be a huge draw and a great way to kick off the Edge/Jericho mega-feud.
WWE Title Match
Triple H (c) vs. Shawn Michaels
Probably the one match on here that you can count on taking place. Not sure if it will be for a title or not, but I just see it working out like that because it’s Triple H and it’s Wrestlemania. I like the dynamic of Triple H as the champion, but it could work with HBK as champ too. I would love to see Triple H win the title from Cena at the Rumble while HBK wins the Rumble Match. H tries to convince him to challenge Taker to get his win back from last year and eventually snaps when he refuses setting up this match. I would really love to see Triple H end up winning, only to have Kofi (or Morrison) come down and cash in their MITB briefcase to win the title that very night. It would be pretty freakin’ legendary.
World Title Match
The Undertaker (c) vs. John Cena
This is seriously the match as far as the WWE is concerned and the build for it may have already started after Taker tombstoned Cena a few weeks ago on Raw. I don’t know how it’s going down, but it needs to. Cena would really make people think that the streak could be over and it would be a damn good match to boot.
Well there’s my mega-card, I really hope that it comes true!
Until next time,
G
